The Power of Kindness

I left my house today and got into an unusually CLEAN car. Instant tears flooded my eyes because this was not my doing, and if anyone knows me (or has read my blog for any length of time), you know that there is not a speck in my life that is clean or organized.

Seriously. I sat there just crying. Overwhelmed, touched, and not sure who I should call first - mom or sister - as I knew one of them was the culprit.

Dialed sister's digits - JACKPOT. That little blessing cleaned my whole darned car! I'm pretty sure she even used Windex (what's that?!) and the vacuum too. Amazing.

After I stopped sobbing long enough I just said thank you. Thank you thank you thank you.

Hey Mel, thank you so much.

It's less about the ACT and more about the SACRIFICE. Yesterday, her day off work, she took some time to clean MY CAR just to love me. Did I say amazing?

I text my mom, my friends, and someone tells me to pay it forward. Well sure, friend, once I'm done soaking up this moment and can function again, I'll pay it forward.

But really. Her beauty and that sacrificial love warmed my heart to the core. I DO want to share it with others and I DO want others to be blessed. And while I drove to get my usual dollar 7 (also known as McDonald's fountain pop, any size), I listened to these lyrics:

"Let my love look like You and what You're made of."

Yes please.

Because not only did I feel the love of my sister, but I felt the love of my Creator.

Now that I am filled to the tippy tippy top I am so ready to live this day! Look for others to bless with me today?
